Yorkshire Brush Making Workshop
Brush Making is coming to Pateley Bridge on the 27th September from 11 - 12.30pm.
Book onto this 1.5 hour workshop to learn how to bind plant fibres into brooms using a traditional binding technique seen in many cultures around the world.
The broom we will make will be in a stiffer Broomcorn, which is brilliant as a hard floor or rug broom, or garden sweeping brush. You will go home with your broom to use for a lifetime and a skill you can get creative with and go on to work with other fibres and bindings. All the fibres are brilliantly water resistant so can be washed and hung up to dry.
Drinks and nibbles will be provided as well as a welcoming and creative atmosphere.
Brush binding can be hard on your hands when you first begin but this doesn’t need to stop us making - if you struggle with finger dexterity, just let me know and I will ensure we take breaks and pace ourselves.
The workshop will take place at Pateley Makers Yard in the centre of Pateley Bridge.
