York Brush Making Workshop

£75.00

Brush Making is coming to York on the 8th November from 1 - 3.30pm.

Book onto this 2.5 hour workshop to learn how to bind plant fibres into brooms using a traditional binding technique seen in many cultures around the world.

The brooms we will make will be in a collection of fibres and are brilliant as a hard floor, rug broom, garden sweeping brush, hearth brush, crumb brush or duster. You will go home with your 2 handmade brooms to use for a lifetime and a skill you can get creative with and go on to work with other fibres and bindings. All the fibres are brilliantly water resistant so can be washed and hung up to dry.

Drinks and nibbles will be provided as well as a welcoming and creative atmosphere.

Brush binding can be hard on your hands when you first begin but this doesn’t need to stop us making - if you struggle with finger dexterity, just let me know and I will ensure we take breaks and pace ourselves.

The workshop will take place at Studio by Rock Garden just off the lovely Bishopthorpe road in York.
