Brush Making is coming to London on the 18th July from 10.30 - 1pm. We will be creating in the wonderful ‘Another Country’ showroom in Marylebone.
Book onto this 2.5 hour workshop to learn how to bind plant fibres into brooms using a traditional binding technique seen in many cultures around the world.
We will be spending our time binding in 2 different fibres. The first broom we will make will be in a softer, more workable fibre which is brilliant as a crumb, dusting or table brush and the second brush in a stiffer Broomcorn, which is brilliant as a hard floor or rug broom. You will go home with your 2 brooms to use for a lifetime and a skill you can get creative with and go on to work with other fibres and bindings. All the fibres are brilliantly water resistant so can be washed and hung up to dry.
All materials will be provided as well as a welcoming and creative atmosphere.
Brush binding can be hard on your hands when you first begin but this doesn’t need to stop us making - if you struggle with finger dexterity, just let us know and we will ensure we take breaks and pace ourselves.
